Opposition leader in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah on Thursday strongly condemned the suspension of Fata reforms bill in the lower house of the parliament.
Addressing at the assembly floor, Khursheed Shah said that apparently government was showing itself very serious in bringing Fata reforms but when actual time comes, it turned down the bill by allies. He said that government had intentionally halted what he called as important and unusual bill through their allies.
Meanwhile, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq warned MNA Shahji Gul Afridi when he started shouting while condemning suspension of Fata reforms bill.
On another side, Minister for States and Frontier Regions Abdul Qadir Baloch rebutted media reports which says that Fata reforms bill was suspended after a phone call between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam chief Fazalur Rehman in which the latter convinced the premier to delay proceedings on Fata reforms package .
It is pertinent to mention here that Fata reforms bill was suspended in the National Assembly on Thursday which led to an uproar by the opposition in the lower house.
