LAHORE: The 12th sitting of Gosha-e-Gayan was held today at Alhamra Arts Council at The Mall. Justice (Retd.) Nasira Javed Iqbal was the keynote speaker of today’s seating.
At the starting of the session, she made it very clear to the audience and other guests, that she will not play with Iqbaliyat, like mullahs play with Islam.
In her address, Miss. Nasira shared her views and thoughts circling her life and career, but the main focus of her talk evolved around human rights one on another.
Moreover, Nasira threw light on Quaid e Azam’s and Allama Iqbal ’s doctrines a couple of times with the primary intent to educate the audience; in her address, she shared her life experiences as well. She told the audience that our leaders should be like our first Prime Minister Shaheed Liaquat Ali Khan – She said our leaders should follow his footsteps.
Furthermore, Nasira also appreciated the idea of Gosha e Gayan and other LAC’s cultural activities for the promotion of arts and culture. She stated that Quaid e Azam always warned us about nepotism but unfortunately, we happen to witness it almost everywhere nowadays.
She also said we can never forget what our father of the nation said to us. She quoted him with his sayings: “You have to stand guard over the development and maintenance of Islamic democracy, Islamic social justice and the equality of manhood in your own native soil.”
Audience admired her views on the topics of human rights and democracy. People from different walks of life attended the session.
At the end of session, Alhamra Arts Council’s executive director, Capt. Atta Muhammad thanked Justice Nasira Javed and said that “this is our pride that today we have a lady like her who was one of the first five female lawyers in Pakistan to be elevated as High Court Judges.”
He further said, “people like her are our pride.” Deputy director Admin Mr. Aftab Ahmed Ansari were also present at the event.
