In response to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s ‘mujhe kyun nikala [why was I removed]’ statement made during a public gathering, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Sindh chapter launched on Friday an ‘Aap Ko Kyun Nikala [Why they removed you]’ drive. The party hung posters and banners and distributed pamphlets in this regard.
PTI leader Haleem Adil Sheikh distributed pamphlets containing reasons why Nawaz was asked to step down as premier of the country at Fawara Chowk.
The reasons included corruption, hiding assets, money laundering, misuse of the prime minister’s office and being unfit to be PM according to Articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution.
Talking to the media, Sheikh said Nawaz has been asking people why he was ousted. He said to answer this question this drive has been launched. According to the PTI leader, Nawaz’s whole family are thieves. They looted the country and developed their own businesses, he accused, adding that his party had held the family accountable and announced their corruption to the whole world.
Sheikh said Nawaz is reacting as if he is a victim of an atrocity and is the most innocent person in the country. For decades the nation was aware of the corruption being done by the Sharif family, who have been hiding behind stay orders, but now Nawaz’s corruption has been declared by the court.
He said they were distributing pamphlets near Governor House and the governor should tell his disqualified leader why he was ousted. Sheikh said Nawaz should now be ready to go to Adiyala Jail and prepare another question on why he was jailed.
He said were Nawaz to present himself before the National Accountability Bureau today they would tell him why he was ousted.
