53 Lives Lost In An Explosion At Quetta’s Civil Hospital

At least 53 lost their lives as a result of a suicidal bomb blast at Quetta’s Civil Hospital on Monday. Around 50 others are reported to be injured.
The blast took place on Monday, right after the gunshots killing the president of Baluchistan Bar Association Advocate Bilal Anwar Kasi, were heard.
In accordance to the footages aired on various Television news channels, a stampede was seen with people scattered all around and mourners trying to get into the hospital emergency ward.
Bilal Anwar Kasi was attacked when he was passing through the Mannu Jan road, by two unknown gunmen who opened fire on his car, resulting as severe injuries. Kasi was immediately taken to the Civil Hospital where he acceded to his injuries.
As the news of Kasi’s injury spread, 50 mourners inclusive of his colleagues and journalists were trying to make through the emergency department of Quetta’s Civil Hospital consorting the dead when the planted bomb detonated.
Many lawyers were reported injured in the blast and aerial firing near the emergency could also be heard, following the explosion. Among the journalists, Aaj TV’s Shehzad Ahmed lost his life in the explosion and Baluchistan’s Bar Association’s former president advocate Baz Muhammad Kakar also acceded to his injuries.
