Finally! Karan Johar announces Dharak starring Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter

After the announcement of Sara Ali Khan’s debut film Kedarnath, people were patiently waiting to know details about Jhanvi Kapoor’s debut. We have spotted her going to the gym, getting herself Bollywood ready with dance classes and hanging out with Ishaan Khatter too. In fact, until yesterday, rumours were rife that the two would be romancing each other in Marathi film Sairat’s remake. But it is no more a rumour. Karan Johar on Wednesday made the official announcement about his next production venture starring Janhvi and Ishaan. And it is going to be the Hindi remake of Marathi hit Sairat. The film is titled Dhadak.

The director earlier posted a video increasing people’s curiosity about the project. In the video, he said, “Five years ago, Sidharth, Varun and Alia joined the Dharma family. And as we speak, they are scintillating stars of the movie industry. We are about to extend our family. We are about to present two actors, the details would be out at 5 pm. It is by the director of Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania. What’s the name of the film? Well, let me just give you a hint – My heart is beating faster.”

Later at sharp 5 pm, he posted the first look and wrote, “PRESENTING…JANHVI and ISHAAN
@ZeeStudios_ and @DharmaMovies proudly present #धड़क directed by @ShashankKhaitan @apoorvamehta18 ..#DHADAK”

The poster also had the release date information. Dhadak, which is directed by Shashank Khaitaan, will hit screens on July 6 next year.

Trade analyst Komal Nahta tweeted, “Just saw four teaser posters of KaranJohar’s adaptation of Marathi Sairaat, starring Jahnavi & Ishaan, and to be directed by Shashank Khaitan. Just too exciting and enigmatic. What’s the title? I’m not revealing just as yet!”

Well, we are sure the industry is going to welcome the two stars with a lot of love.
