A female student was crushed to death by Metro Bus in Rawalpindi when driver rammed the vehicle with a roadside pole.
According to our correspondent, the incident occurred in Rawalpindi’s Shamsabad area.
Police and rescue officials said the bus rammed with a roadside pole as driver applied emergency brake to control the fast-moving vehicle.
Due to the collision, the vehicle’s door opened and a girl fell on the road. She was run over the giant Metro Bus.
The girl, identified as 19-year-old medical student Sumera, died on the spot, whereas the driver managed to flee from the scene.
Police and rescue teams shifted her body to District Headquarters hospital Rawalpindi.
It was second such incident in the city. Few weeks back, a woman was crushed to death by the Metro Bus. The bus track is under construction for several months, exposing lives of passengers to dangers.
