FAISALABAD: Residents of Faisalabad on Sunday caught and subjected a man to torture who assayed to kidnap a minor girl from Gharibabad area, media sources reported.
After beating the suspect, the residents of the area handed him over to police. They said the suspect was trying to abduct the five-year-old girl, Arfa.
Media correspondent Muhammed Kashif said this was second abductor who was caught in a month by the citizens of the area.
“When he tried to flee with the girl, he was intercepted by the residents and subjected to torture. They also shaved his head,” he said.
Police said investigation from the alleged culprit was underway.
Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) unit of Sindh Police in September claimed to have to solved the case of a youth named Raheel Amin who was kidnapped for ransom earlier this year on February 6.
The AVCC has arrested three suspects named Roohullah, Mukhtar, and Naeem, said DIG Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) Amin Yousafzai while addressing a press conference.
He said that ransom amount was recovered before it was being transferred to Afghanistan, while arms and a motor vehicle used in the criminal activity was also confiscated from their possession.
