International Women’s Day was observed across the country on Thursday (8 March) with women from various walks of life participating in events held by both government departments as well as the civil society.
With the increase in awareness towards rights of women throughout our country. This year the theme for International Women’s Day being observed on March 8 is ‘the gender agenda — gaining momentum’. To support this agenda, E-magine, conducted an interactive session on empowering women on entrepreneurship on 8th March.
The event took place in Karachi at Royal Rodale club and was attended by a number of young female entrepreneurs that are paving way for female fellows in the world of business. A number of guest speakers, experts in their respective field, gave sessions to attendees on education and diversity in entrepreneurship.
Syed Khawar, a keynote speaker for one session said, “I am glad to be a part of an event like this and wish to see more such events in future. These young girls are the future of our next generations and we should do our best to empower them in every walk of life.”
Ms. Huda Gharib, founder and CEO of E-Magine, woman behind this event, strongly believes in gender equality and wants to see women excel in Pakistan.
