After suffering the launching of 20 rockets, Israel responded and attacked dozens of Iranian military targets in Syria over the course of the night.
Israel has accused Iranian forces of attacking 20 Israeli missiles in the Golan Heights with 20 missiles, Israeli official sources said.
“Tonight (10.05.2018) about 12.10 am, they fired approximately 20 rockets, mostly rockets, at the first line of defense of the Army in the north, these rockets were fired by the Iranian force Quds (Jerusalem, in Arabic)” from the Syrian side of the Golan, told a group of journalists, including Efe, Army spokesman Jonathan Conricus. The spokesman did not mention possible Israeli victims.
After the attack, Israel responded and attacked dozens of Iranian military targets in Syria over the course of the night. “We have attacked dozens of military targets in Syria,” said Conricus, adding that “we have been in this operation for several weeks or months, in which we have managed to thwart several Iranian attacks.”
The Iranian attack was launched from the outskirts of Damascus, about 30 or 40 kilometers from the border and “it was very serious” even though it caused no casualties and hardly any damage.
The Israeli operation last night “is one of the largest air operations of the Air Force in recent years and the largest against Iranian targets, attacking dozens of targets: intelligence centers, military bases, warehouses, ballistic missiles and a vehicle that served as a shuttle for rockets. “
