Ingredients:

1/2 kg Large Green chilies
300 gm Yogurt
1 cup Onion paste
1/2 cup Tamarind paste
10-15 Curry leaves
1 tsp Poppy seeds
1 tsp Turmeric powder
1 tbsp Cumin powder
1 tbsp Sesame crushed
1 tbsp Coriander powder
1/2 tsp Fenugreek seeds
2 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
2 tbsp Red chili powder
2 tbsp Coconut
4 tbsp Mustard seeds
4 tbsp Peanut powder
4 tbsp Oil
to taste Salt

Method:

  1. In a pan heat 4 tbsp of oil and fry 1/2 tsp of fenugreek seeds and 10-15 curry leaves till it starts sizzling.
  2. Now add 1 cup of onion paste, 2 tbsp of ginger garlic paste and sauté. When the color starts to change and you smell the aroma, add 300 grams of yogurt and mix well.
  3. Now add 1 tbsp of coriander powder, 1 tsp of poppy seeds, 1 tbsp of cumin powder, 2 tbsp of red chili powder, 4 tbsp of mustard seeds, 2 tbsp of grated coconut, 1 tbsp of crushed sesame seeds,4tbsp crushed peanuts and 1 tsp of turmeric powder. Mix well and fry till the oil forms a separate layer on top.
  4. In the end add 1/2 cup of tamarind paste, salt, 1/2 kg of green chilies and water as required.
  5. Cover and simmer for 5-10 minutes. Dish out and serve with naan and lassi!
