ISLAMABAD: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is likely to arrive Pakistan on a three-day official visit at the invitation of Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi today
China’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hua Chunying at a regular press briefing in Beijing said Wang Yiwill be visiting Islamabad from 7th-9th September.
Besides, holding talks and a joint press conference with his counterpart, Chinese Foreign Minister is likely to meet Prime Minister Imran Khan and president-elect Dr Arif Alvi to discuss bilateral issues.
The spokesperson said the two sides will share opinions on bilateral relations as well as international and regional issues of mutual interest.
“We hope and look forward to this visit, continue the traditional friendship between China and Pakistan, promote mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields, and push China-Pakistan all-weather strategic partnership to a new height,” the spokesperson stated.
The Chinese foreign minister’s visit comes two days after US Secretary State Mike Pompeo’s visited Islamabad to hold bilateral talks with the Pakistani civil and military leadership.
