Pakistan Electronic Media Regulation Authority has revoked the license of Bol News, a news channel owned and operated by Shoaib Ahmed Shiekh. The license was revoked after Interior Ministry rejected security clearance of its directors.
This is not the first time that Bol News has been suspended. The channel was suspended even before its official launch as its sister concern Axact was shut down. The channel also had to face the music after its anchor, Aamir Liaqat was alleged of spreading hate speech.
All cable operators have also been notified by the media regulatory body to immediately take Bol News and Bol Entertainment channels off air.
“Bol News and Bol Entertainment (Pak News) have been ordered to surrender the original licenses and clear all outstanding dues,” the notification further said.
