The Norwegian Simen Hegstad Kruger achieved a remarkable comeback with which he won the gold medal in the skiing competition at the Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea.
At the start of the race, Kruger, 24, fell after colliding with another competitor.
In addition, he was forced to replace his sticks, which was relegated to the last place among the 68 competitors.
Even so, he recovered and managed to surpass his rivals until he was the first to reach the finish line with a time of one hour, 16 minutes and 20 seconds.
The second and third place went to the Norwegians Martin Johnsrud Sundby and Hans Christer Holund, respectively.
With this feat, Kruger achieved his first Olympic medal .
The skiing is a cross-country test in which the participants must complete 8 laps to a circuit of 3.75 kilometers .
In total, the competitors complete 30 kilometers.
In the first half of the race the competitors advance with the classic ski technique .
After completing that part of the course, they change skis and poles to start freestyle skiing during the second half of the race.
