‘Serial child rapist’ in Karachi has been put behind the bars

In a news conference, DIG East Zulfiqar Larak addressed media saying that the suspect Amjad Ali belongs to Jhang district of Punjab and is involved in sexually abusing at least six minor girls in Karachi, Malir area.

“We received countless rape reports of minor girls in Malir district so we constituted a police team which spotted him (suspect) in a CCTV footage near a rape victim’s house which led to his arrest,” said the police officer, adding that his DNA matched from tissue samples collected from at least six minor girls.

He maintained that DNA reports from at least 20 other cases is still awaited and there is strong possibility that the same suspect is behind those crimes as well.

The law enforcement agency says Amjad Ali moved to Karachi as a laborer and worked in a private textile mill until he was arrested.

At least five cell phones were recovered from his custody while he has a huge amount in his bank account, the police informed.

Earlier this week, Karachi police arrested a madrassa teacher for sexually abusing at least 10 young girls in Karachi’s Korangi area.

The man named Alam Ghouri sexually abused at least 10 girls aged between 5 and 14 and filmed the obnoxious scenes using his cellphone camera.

Alam was arrested after an area resident lodged a First Information Report (FIR) with police claiming that four years ago, Alam Ghouri not only raped his daughter but filmed the act.

The complainant claimed that her daughter was 14 when the incident took place and now the accused was apparently blackmailing him with the same video clip.
