Pregnant with twins and with only 22 weeks of gestation, the woman had to leave emergency to the hospital.
The girl was born without life and the child lived, but was declared dead hours later.
Both were wrapped and handed over to their parents in New Delhi, India.
On their way to the funeral of their children, they noticed that one of them was moving. The boy was still alive and was rushed to another hospital.
The incident occurred on November 30 and on Monday the private medical center Max Hospital dismissed the two doctors who declared the baby dead by mistake.
The case provoked outrage in India and a debate about the quality of private medical care in the country, which is often expensive.
The hospital said in a statement that “this strict action was taken based on our initial conversations with experts.”
“While the investigation of the group of experts is still in process, we have decided to terminate the services of the two treating doctors,” the hospital added.
The government’s investigation is ongoing.
