Panama Muddle To Continue…A Jumbled Verdict Leaves Nation Topsy-turvy

Published on April 21, 2017 by Javeria Siddiqui

The verdict of Panama Case is indeed historical. For the very first time the decision favors none of the two opposing parties or otherwise favored the both.

Prime Minister is still on his seat and his party is celebrating that he isn’t disqualified. Supreme Court has only ordered a formation of JIT to probe further.

Antagonistically Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf is rejoicing the same decision that SC has announced the formation of JIT to probe the assets of a sitting PM.

For N-league this a victory and for PTI this means enough to demand a resignation from Nawaz Sharif.

The SC decision provided both the Government and the opposition a chance to celebrate.

Amid all this confusion nation is still stunned and indecisive of what is the outcome of all the hearings and wait.

Well for PML-N and PTI the wait may be over but for the nation there is still a long way to go. People are still waiting for the day when there will be a judgment without confusion.

The case was different for so many reasons and the hopes were high. Verdict however is not as different as it was perceived to be.

Every political party is trying to make most out of it before the elections and in all of the statements and declarations about Mian Sahib’s ineligibility demanding his resignation.Only Peoples Party Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari’s account on this whole situation seems close to the public emotion.

Zardari has clearly questioned the verdict and pointed a finger that how this can be justified as righteous when it evidently tries to pleased both the parties. Zardari’s account on this case is clear. He appreciated the two judges who believed that Nawaz should be disqualified.

The Former President is demanding resignation from the Prime Minister but he also stated that this is how Pakistani judicial system works it has nothing new to it .
