Educational institutions see a spike in Covid-19 cases

According to Rava News, tests for Covid-19 were conducted at Khatun-e-Pakistan School on Friday, in which Ghazala Parveen, the school’s in-charge, tested positive for the virus.

Despite the positive case, the teaching process in schools could not be stopped while the influx of students at educational institutions also continues unabated.

According to the latest figures from the National Command and Operations Center, 41 people have died from the coronavirus, bringing the death toll to 14,256. The number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Pakistan has reached 659,116.

During the last 24 hours, 4,525 new cases were reported, 215,227 in Punjab, 264,889 in Sindh, 85,531 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 19,525 in Balochistan, 5,010 in Gilgit-Baltistan and Islam. 56,450 cases were reported in Islamabad while 12,484 cases were reported in Azad Kashmir.

A total of 117,095 people have been tested across the country so far, while 40,369 new tests have been done in the last 24 hours. 598,197 patients have recovered so far while 3,055 patients are in critical condition.

In one day, 41 people have died from Covid-19 in Pakistan, bringing the death toll from the virus to 14,256.
