The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) stated that it will not be considering the extension of income tax returns date in the annual filing. According to the FBR, taxpayers must submit the report of annual tax returns before Sept 30.

In response to the rumors regarding the extension of the date, the spokesperson directly denied and said that no such proposal has been received by the FBR headquarters and clarified that over 0.8 million people have filed their returns.

He added that a show-cause notice will be sent to the traders who are not part of Point of Sales (POS) and said, “failure to install POS will result in a fine worth Rs500,000 after 15 days.”
