The sources have told that the petroleum division has recommended a reduction in fuel price by up to Rs 5 per litre to provide relief to the consumers. In the span of the last few months, the price of petroleum had gone up now, the prices are likely to decrease for the next 15 days starting from September 1 to 15.
Moreover, diesel and high-speed diesel prices (HSD) have been suggested to reduce by Rs3.50 per litre and Rs 5 per litre. The summary in this regard has been sent to the Ministry of Energy. The fuel price can also further od won by decreasing the tax rates. However, the final decision will be taken by the Ministry of Finance once the prime minister approves of the new price that will be effective from September 1.
