Petroleum prices likely to see the hike of Rs9

The government is expected to increase petroleum prices by up to Rs9 per litre for the next 16 days if it is approved by the Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra). The finance minister Shaukat Tarin will likely meet International Monetary Fund’s managing director Kristalina Georgieva which is why the hike in price is predicted.

According to the sources, Ogra has been asked to keep the details on the news completely confidential as the government has to make calculations for the price increase. the increase in other products such as kerosene, light diesel oil, and more are also expected.
