The increase in the price of power by Rs3.75 per unit has been allowed by the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) for Karachiites of K-Electric consumers. The authorities have verified that the rise in price was due since September for monthly fuel adjustment. However, the increase doesn’t apply to lifeline users. The adjustments will be made in December bills by keeping in view the orders of the court.
Earlier, K-Electric increased the price of power by Rs1.38 per unit in light of the fuel cost adjustment for October 2021. The hearing was presided by the Nepra Chairman Tauseef Farooqi.
