Yunus Emre Turkish Drama is another series is set to air on state-run television in Pakistan after the massive success of ‘Diriliş: Ertuğrul’.

PTI leader Faisal Javed Khan announced that another Turkish show, Yunus Emre, will now be screened on the state-run Pakistan Television (PTV) channel, after Ertugrul.

Taking to Twitter he shared, “On the directions of PM Imran Khan, yet another hit by Mehmet Bozdağ, Yunus Emre (Aşkin Yolculuğu) is to be telecast on PTV.”

He went on to add, “Yunus Emre (the Dervish) was an Islamic poet, a mystic and a poor villager. Story of a great Sufi wholly dedicated to Allah and search for unity.”

In the continuing tweet, Faisal shared, “It is a journey of transformation. Yunus Emre was well versed in mystical philosophy, especially that of the 13th-century poet and mystic Jalaluddin Rumi. Serial is a great example of a meticulous attention to detail work.”

This move comes as reinforcement for the earlier move by PM Imran to set up an Ant-Muslim TV channel with Malaysia and Turkey. PM had talked about how widespread Islamophobia needs to be countered around the world by feeding facts, not propaganda, to our children.

Yunus Emre series in Urdu will broadcast on PTV. Yunus Emre Netflix version is not in Urdu, it is available with English subtitles.

Additionally, all sections of society have seemed to welcome the move. People need something different from what they’ve been watching for decades on PTV.

Yunus Emre originally aired on Turkish state television, TRT, in 2015. The second season of the 2016 series was also broadcast. The series was produced by the director of Ertugrul, Mehmet Bozdag.

Moreover, the historical television series focuses on the life of Yunus Emre, the Anatolian Sufi poet of the 13th century, who influenced Anatolian culture greatly.

Yunus Emre cast leading characters are Gokhan Atalay, Payidar Tufekcioglu, Baran Akbulut.

The drama series will be broadcast with Urdu dubbing for Pakistani audiences, just like the popular Dirilis Ertugrul, according to the details. Watching the show, as per the PM, will make young people learn about Islamic history and ethics.
