Actress Mindy Kaling who played Kelly Kapoor on The Office, recently confirmed that she’s had discussions with Marvel Studios about bringing Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“I think the people I’ve spoken to [at] Marvel about it are so excited about the character, and I think that they’re trying to figure out what to do with it, and I told them I would help in any way, because I truly love her.” She added, “But they seemed really interested, and I think they will probably do something.”, Kaling told MTV.
She further explained that if an adaptation was made, she thinks “an unknown” actor would be the best choice to play teenage Pakistani-American superhero.
Kaling hinted that Ms. Marvel might be launched on the upcoming Disney+ platform, “No that there’s, like, this streaming platform with them it might be something like that.” Kaling continued, But I think they understand how much there is the excitement. Riz, me, every different Desi actor was very excited.

For those who’re unfamiliar: in the Marvel Comics universe, Kamala is a Muslim teenager from New Jersey who discovers she has super-powers thanks to her Inhuman genes. She thereafter takes on the mantle of Ms. Marvel, in honor of her idol Carol Danvers aka. Captain Marvel.
