Team Review – Karachi Kings PSL 2020

18 views

Representing Pakistan’s largest city Karachi, Karachi Kings are a formidable PSL Team in Twenty20 format. The team was formed in 2015 as part of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s formation of the Pakistan Super League. Salman Iqbal, an owner of the ARY Group and CEO of ARY Digital Network, is the founder of the team. Karachi Kings’ fan base is not just limited to Karachi; it’s spread across the length and breadth of the country, with cricket enthusiasts admiring the team for its unwavering commitment to the sport of cricket.

Karachi Kings Squad

The closest Karachi Kings reached when they finished second on the points table in 2018, but they were unable to take either of the two chances they had to qualify for the showcase event.

As things currently stand today,

Imad Wasim is playing as the captain of Karachi Kings, which will be seem quite perplexing as we have Babar Azam in the team, who is Kings skipper at national level.

Here’s how KK team look like;

The Karachi Kings are coached by Mickey Arthur with Rashid Latif as Team Director.

We expect Muhammad Rizwan will take wickets for Karachi, while we expect Usama Mir and Umar Khan to be a support in the spin department for Imad alongside Iftikhar Ahmed.

. In the previous season, Babar was successful as an opener but the Pakistan captain may also be accommodated at No.3.

With the inclusion of Pakistan stars like Mohammad Amir and Imad, the bowling attack—which also includes World Cup winner Liam Plunkett and the ever-reliable Chris Jordan—looks perfect.

Other international players like Cameron Delport and Dan Lawrence have also joined the team to set the match on the path to victory.

Alex Hales: While Babar Azam’s consistency is truly amazing, Alex Hales’s arm strength could make all the difference in the shortest format. The Englishman has a T20 strike rate of over 140 runs and will look for his clean-hitting ability to light up PSL 2020.

Chris Jordan: It’s hard to look past Jordan as the greatest asset to the Karachi outfit in the bowling department. He makes it very challenging for batsmen to hit out at death with his varied bag of slower balls, and unerringly accurate yorkers. Moreover, he has the fast pace to make a real impact if he is called upon to bowl with the new ball.

The hitting skills of lower-order batsmen like Imad and Aamer Yamin mean Karachi Kings must be one of this season’s most free-scoring teams.
