During a press conference, Chinese Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson Wang Wenbin took a dig at the United States for ‘willfully’ disposing off Afghan assets without their consent, labeling the move to be the ‘conduct of bandits’. Wang also accused the US of igniting crisis in war-torn Afghanistan and said that the US should note aggravate the suffering of Afghan people and demanded to unfreeze their assets, lift unilateral sanctions in the country as soon as possible and accept that it is their responsibility to relieve Afghanistan of the humanitarian crisis.

Wang stated, “This latest example has once again laid bare that the “rules-based order” the US claims to champion is not the kind of rules and order to defend the weak and uphold justice, but to maintain its own hegemony.” China reacted after US President Joe Biden signed an order to free $7 billion out of over $9 billion frozen assets to split the amount for humanitarian aid for Afghanistan and 9/11 funding for victims.

Do you think this will have any impact on the United States?
