Canada has decided to give permanent residency to more than 90,000 foreign students and workers who assisted in the treatment of the coronavirus pandemic. The immigration Minister of the country, Marco Mendicino explained that this will allow Canada to welcome over 400,000 immigrants in the country every year as the country faced a drastic drop in immigration last year due to the closed border.

The plan is expected to be effective from May 6th. A huge number of Pakistani students can make the most of this initiative as well. This will help Canada reach its quarter target of the immigration goal. It is specially intended for workers who have worked for a year in healthcare units or other sectors such as grocery stores, truck drivers, farmers, etc.
