A meeting that has raised eyebrows!

Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Chief Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed met the former Afghan PM and the Hezb-e-Islami leader, Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, and Taliban leaders. The meeting took place in Kabul to discuss the formation of the inclusive government and the co-founder of the group, Mullah Baradar, will likely head the new Afghanistan.

Baradari, the head of the political office of the Taliban will be assisted by the son of late Taliban founder Mullah Omar, Mullah Mohammad Yaqoob along with Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanekzai.

Gen Faiz reached Kabul on the weekend after receiving an invitation from the Taliban. Moreover, the Pakistan delegation by the strong intelligence discussed the Pak-Afghan security. The Taliban’s Cultural Commission explained the visit of Faiz Hameed’s arrival to Kabul saying that he was there to improve the bilateral relations between the two capital cities.

Hameed also promised to provide technical support to Afghanistan to start the operation at Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul.
