The roof of the Amazon warehouse partially collapsed near St. Louis on Friday night. Tornadoes and strong storms blew through the area that led to the “mass casualty incident”. The warehouse was damaged and the local police said rescue and search operations got underway after the company assessed the scale of destruction at the facility. However, the authorities didn’t confirm the number of people trapped in the building. As a precautionary measure, the U.S. National Weather Service issued a tornado warning in multiple states, including Missouri, Illinois, Arkansas, and Tennessee.
The employees of the warehouse panicked and their loved ones came rushing for the help of the rescue team. Illinois Governor JB Pritzker tweeted, “My prayers are with the people of Edwardsville tonight, and I’ve reached out to the mayor to provide any needed state resources.”
