The situation of the pandemic was analyzed on Sunday to review the sharp hike in COVID-19 cases. The health minister, Dr. Yasmin Rashid claimed that she has seen a growing number of ill patients. According to Dr. Rashid, hospitals in Punjab are in a dire need of beds and ventilators. Out of seven teaching hospitals, four have been closed to control the situation of the pandemic.
Dr. Rashid added that the Punjab government has established a target to inoculate 20,000 people per day and special SOPs for the month of Ramadan have been introduced.
Moreover, Dr. Rashid mentioned that in a cabinet meeting the acquirement of more ventilators and hospital beds with medical equipment will be discussed to control the current situation.
