All passenger trains allowed to operate at their full capacity

With the outbreak of a coronavirus pandemic in the country, the Pakistan Railways had completely suspended their passenger train services in March. The services were partly restored ahead of Eidul Fitr in May but trains were operating at 60 percent of the capacity to maintain the guideline of social distancing.

All passenger trains will however operate as of today at their full capacity. According to a notification released on Saturday by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pakistan Railways, from August 9, trains will be providing 100pc of their seats for booking.

 

The announcement comes in keeping with the federal government ‘s goal of reviving all sectors of the economy after a decline in infections and deaths of coronavirus.
