A lab study has shown that antibodies produced in a body after the first dose of Sinovac’s COVID-19 shot fade after six months. Mostly, after the second or third dose, the strong effect of boosting immunity emerges in the body that protects the recipient from coronavirus.
BEIJING: A new revelation about the COVID-19 vaccine has surfaced. As people are getting vaccinated all over the world, it has been revealed that the antibodies from Sinovac’s shot that are created in a human body to enhance immunity and protect from the virus, fade away after half a year.
Chinese researchers have found this out by using the blood samples of adults from 18 to 59 years of age. It was tested that when the interval between the two doses was two or four weeks, recipients’ bodies managed to neutralize antibodies by 16.9% and 35.2% respectively.
The study took place at disease control authorities in Jiangsu province, China.
