In a joint press conference in connection with the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), planning minister Asad Umar highlighted the importance of the Pak-China relationship. He said that Pakistan would not back an inch from this friendship despite immense pressure developed by external sources, adding that China is a friend who helped Pakistan but never bragged, which is evident from the foreign direct investments it has made in Pakistan. The federal minister mentioned that Pakistan has pledged to value the CPEC along with Pak-China ties.
Umar highlighted how the strong bilateral relations between the two countries in CPEC have offered great support during the pandemic saying that the efforts on CPEC were properly carried out because of the powerful leadership and the commitment of the two countries.
According to the federal minister, Chin never asked Pakistan for undue favors no matter how united the two countries have been.
