Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information, says that, although she will continue to support women for their cause, the slogans promoted at the Aurat March are uncalled for and against the norms of our society.
Speaking at a Women’s Day event on Monday, Awan urged the march activists to review their approach of putting up banners and placards bearing vulgar and controversial slogans.
The minister said the PTI government sought to create a society where gender parity and women rights were safeguarded in step with the Islamic principles and values.
She emphasized that women should also ensure their honor and integrity by striking a balance in society.
