In an exclusive interview with Radio Pakistan, CEO of Punjab Health Initiative Management Company, Dr. Ali Razaque confirmed that Prime Minister Imran Khan will be paying a visit to the Bahawalpur division tomorrow (Wednesday) to launch Naya Pakistan Qaumi Sehat Card Program. The premier will also accompany Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar. Under this healthcare program, the government will provide free medical treatment in public and selected private hospitals up to Rs 1 million.
PM Khan has already launched Qaumi Sehat Card in Punjab, Tharparkar, Islamabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit Baltistan. Over 15 million people from Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, and Bahawalnagar districts have benefitted from the Qaumi Sehat Card, taking the rate to 63%.
The premier considers the health scheme the feat of his government. During the launch of the Naya Pakistan Qaumi Sehat Card scheme in Islamabad, Khan appreciated the efforts of Usman Buzdar and SAPM for Health Dr. Faisal for achieving this.
