Punjab’s Chief Minister Usman Buzdar’s alleged incapacity to deal with the affairs of the province has prompted even the rank and file of the PTI to raise calls for the CM’s ouster.
Although no party leader would openly comment against the Punjab set-up, they do acknowledge in background interviews that their government has not been able to run the province effectively.
“Yes, we’re disgruntled with the thus-far performance of Mr Buzdar and a majority within the PTI wants him to be replaced with a better and active political figure but the question is: How?” a senior leader of the ruling party said.
He said in this situation it was quite hard to bring all the groups on one page and arrive on a consensus for the given post.
By the same token, the PML-Q has, on several occasions, said that it would reconsider its support to the PTI government if the current chief minister was replaced.
