The Covid-19 pandemic has devastated the economy and badly impacted the services industry, said Mian Zahid Hussain, Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Advisory Committee at FBR Convener.
He said this during a special meeting on the difficulties the business community is facing in the services sector.
Hussain stressed the need to make sure implementation and compliance with government-formulated standard operating procedures (SOPs) and protocols for professional business management.
Speaking at the occasion, FPCCI Vice President Khurram Ijaz said there were various hardships facing the entire business community, exporters and industrialists.
He assured businesses that they would be facilitated, and initiatives needed to raise their concerns with government authorities would be taken. Pakistan Hotels Association Chairman Zubair Baweja said the Covid-19 outbreak had seriously affected the services sector, particularly the hotel industry.
