The federal government has decided to ease the restrictions of COVID-19 in the cities where the positivity ratio is below 10% for the past three days. The coronavirus measures will be lifted from February 16 including the resumption of in-door dining and continuation of regular classes as the rate has decreased nationwide. Moreover, the sources revealed that the dine-ins will only be allowed with strict SOPs, and children under 12 would be allowed to resume their normal classes.
The restrictions were imposed by the National Command and operation Centre (NCOC) last month amid the fifth COVID-19 wave when most of the cities reported a very high positivity ratio. Earlier, NCOC allowed the schools to open with 50% attendance on alternate days for students below 12. After a 10-day hike, Pakistan has witnessed a major drop in the death count, as shown by the data of the NCOC.
