Imran Khan visits Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works

The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan visited Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works where the PM was received by Chief of Naval Staff of the Pakistan Navy, Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi. The Prime Minister also inaugurated the Ship Lift and Transfer System at the Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works. The lift works as an elevator platform to raise large ships out of water for dry-docking ashore and lowering them back into the water after completion of work. The KSEW is currently building 2 MILGEM-Class corvettes & 4 Type 039B AIP submarines, X craft submarines, Azmat Class FAC(M)s currently and has built Zulfiquar Class frigates and Khalid Class submarines in the past. The KS&EW will also build 5000-6000 tonne Jinnah Class Frigates in the future, currently in the R&D phase.
