KARACHI: Light to heavy rain in various parts of Karachi on Wednesday turned weather pleasant, media sources reported.
The downpour was experienced in city’s area of Safoora, Malir, Airport, Model Colony, Shahra-e-Faisal, Star Gate, Gulistan-e-Jauhar and North Nazimabad.
Cool winds are blowing in the area after the rain, which has turned weather cold. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department heavy rain was recorded in Korangi and Malir.
“Light to moderate rain to continue in various parts of Karachi as the rain developing system still present in the western parts of the country ”, the MET office said.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department further added a fresh westerly wave has entered Balochistan from Iran and is likely to persist over upper parts of the country for few days that will affect Balochistan and other parts of the country.
Earlier in the day, the MET office forecast rain-thunderstorm along with gusty winds at isolated places in Balochistan, Malakand division and Gilgit Baltistan region
The minimum temperature of some major cities recorded on Wednesday morning was recorded as follows.
Minimum temperature in Islamabad was eight degree centigrade, Lahore 12, Karachi 21, Peshawar 10, Quetta and Muzaffarabad six, Murree three and Gilgit-Baltistan five degree centigrade.
