In a bid to oust the PTI-led government, the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, urged the entire nation to march towards the federal capital on March 23 (Pakistan Day) for an anti-government long march. Speaking to the media, he said that the PDM is not sure when the march would end, adding that this time the strategy would be different from the long march in 2019.
Fazl also lambasted the incumbent government for protesting the Opposition’s no-confidence motion by giving warnings to the lawmakers from going to the Parliament and opting for “unconstitutional” tactics. He is hopeful with the result of the no-confidence motion voting and said that the move is in line with the hopes of the Pakistani people.
On the other hand, Prime Minister Imran Khan also demanded the gathering of one million people to hold a historic rally in Islamabad and promised to give a safe pathway to lawmakers for reaching the assembly.
Will the PDM-led march really help topple the government?
