Pakistan records 5,000 new COVID-19 cases in 24 hours

The total number of cases in the country has now reached 672,931. Out of these, 5,000 alone have been reported with 96 deaths in 24 hours only. The positivity rate of active cases has now climbed to 10.43%.

According to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), the death toll has now jumped to 14,530. However, it is reported that 2,148 patients have successfully recovered from the disease as well.

Hospitals in Punjab require more capacity as the active cases are rising every day. Multan has the highest rate of ventilator occupancy in the country i.e. 67%. Lahore has at 67%, Gujranwala at 60%, and Islamabad at 64%.
