Pakistan shares a key border, Torkham, with a neighboring country Afghanistan that it has reopened for the pedestrians. Ever since the Taliban have regained their power, they closed one of the two main crossings of Torkham when the capital of Pakistan, Islamabad had refused to accept their demand of allowing all Afghan citizens stranded at the border in Pakistan.

As per the confirmation of the deputy commissioner of the Khyber district of the Torkham border, Mansoor Arshad, the border has been opened again for Afghan and Pakistani nationals in Afghanistan to return to their respective country.

On the other hand, hundreds of Afghan citizens were at the border waiting for their escape from the war-torn country.
