Pakistan to begin Polio vaccination drive from March 29

Pakistan is set to launch a five-day polio vaccination drive from March 29 during which over 40 million children under the age of five will be inoculated.

On Friday, PM’s Special Assistant on Health Dr Faisal Sultan spearheaded the national polio immunization campaign in an effort to increase the immunity of children who are vulnerable to the debilitating illness.

Dr Sultan said that although COVID-19 continues to “challenge us, but we are committed to ensure the continuity of vital public health services during these difficult times.”

He said that 280,000 brave Sehat Muhafiz frontline workers will go to every doorstep to inoculate all entitled children in every corner of Pakistan.
