A few days after the UAE established formal relations with Israel, Prime Minister Imran Khan unequivocally denied on Tuesday that Pakistan would recognize Israel unless Palestinians are given their right to a “just settlement”.
The premier’s comments came during an extensive interview with Kamran Khan on Dunya News.
“Whichever country wants to do recognize Israel, our stance is very clear. Our stance was cleared by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah in 1947-48,” said PM Imran. “Which was that we will never recognize Israel till the Palestinians do not get their rights.”
He said that Pakistan would not establish diplomatic relations with Tel Aviv until the Palestinians get a separate state of their own.
The prime minister said that if Pakistan agreed to recognizing Israel and gave up its just stance, then it would have to stop raising the issue of Kashmir as the situation in the disputed area was similar.
