A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) passenger plane A320, with an estimated 98 people onboard, crashed in Karachi’s Model Colony near Jinnah International Airport on Friday

Soon after the crash support  from all three military wings  (Pakistan Army , Navy and AirForce) arrived on the spot  to  aid civil administration in rescue operation.

According to press release by DG ISPR  Army Quick Reaction Force & Pakistan Rangers Sindh troops reached crash site for relief and rescue efforts alongside civil administration.Pak Army Aviation helicopters flown for damage assessment and rescue efforts. Urban Search & Rescue Teams are being sent on site for rescue efforts.

 

Pakistan Navy spokesperson confirmed  that  fire tenders and rescue teams are participating on a large scale in rescue operation along-with other institutions at the site.

While  Pakistan Air Force spokesperson stated that”PAF firefighters are actively engaged in firefighting and rescue operation at crash site along with other agencies. PAF helicopter is also carrying out aerial surveillance of the area.”

Condolence Messages From COAS ,Chief of the Naval Staff And Air Chief Marshal

Expressing grief  COAS  condoles loss of precious lives in tragic PIA plane crash. Shares grief of bereaved families in this difficult time. COAS directed provision of full assistance to civil administration in rescue/ relief effort. 

Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi expressed his deep grief over loss of precious lives in unfortunate PIA plane crash at Karachi. Naval Chief extended condolences to the bereaved families and directed Pakistan Navy Field Commands at Karachi to provide all out support to civil administration in rescue operation

Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force has expressed grief over the tragic air crash of PIA Airbus 320 aircraft near Karachi airport, today. He further said that PAF stands by PIA at this difficult time and extends all out support in Rescue Operation.

Unfortunate A320 Airbus was carrying 90 passengers and 8 crew members

PIA spokesperson Abdullah Hafeez confirmed the crash and added that the A320 Airbus was carrying 90 passengers and 8 crew members from Lahore to Karachi on PK 8303. Witnesses said the Airbus A320 appeared to attempt to land two or three times before crashing in a residential area near the airport.
