On Wednesday, Prime Minister Imran Khan has urged that extraordinary steps taken to contain coronavirus must be reviewed as this was creating a lot of problems for the general public.

Addressing a parliamentary leaders’ conference in Islamabad, the premier urged that the lifting of the ban on transport be ended, saying it would seriously disrupt the supply of important items in the country.

“Gilgit-Baltistan is facing fuel shortage and yesterday, supply from the port was stopped due to the lockdown in Karachi and we had to take necessary steps in this regard,” the prime minister said.

He added such a lockdown was not witnessed anywhere in the world.
