Inauguration of Nutritional Stabilization Center, Pediatric Department in collaboration with WHO and State of Art Laparoscopic Gynecological Theater with 3D–4K Laparoscopic Machine

29 November 2022: Sindh Minister for Health and Population Welfare, Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho;   Dr. Ahmed Al Mahdhari, Regional Director EMRO, World Health Organization, and Dr. Palitha Mahipala, WHO Representative and Head of Mission Pakistan, inaugurated the First 15 bedded Nutrition Stabilisation Centre of Karachi, Sindh at Sindh Government Hospital Lyari with the support of WHO Pakistan.

The Nutrition Stabilization Centre will be supporting Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) children from Sindh, Baluchistan, and Iran. In addition to SAM treatment, NSC has an Early Childhood Development component and a lactation management unit.

WHO is supporting the establishment of 15 new NSCs and the renovation/ refurbishment of 16 existing NSCs including Human Resources, supplies, and equipment to support malnutrition in Sindh
