An olive branch?
Senior PPP leader and former interior minister Rehman Malik have said that Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) is a reality and urged his local leadership to work with the party for the development of the province, particularly Karachi. Talking to the media, Malik said Sindh will develop if the MQM-P works with the PPP in the province.
He added that this situation will be more apparent in the coming days after the verdict on the foreign case. Malik said that the next two months are critical as the government is imposing 17% tax and the IMF will no longer provide funds if the government doesn’t increase tax rates. He added that Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid must have knowledge of the policies as they are formulated for 15-20 years.
Do you really think the MQM and PPP can work together?
