The Sindh government has lifted the marriage hall restriction, enabling the owners to resume operations after a nearly six-month break.
In a notification released by the home department on Monday, owners of marriage halls were informed that the provincial government lifted the restriction, taking into account the decline in coronavirus cases.
However, marriage hall owners were required to ensure that precautionary standard operating procedures, provided in reference to Covid-19 be observed. This include, observing social distance and wearing masks, among other measures.
The relaxation will remain effective until October 15 as per the notice, but the district administration will enforce restrictions in the case that it observes an increase in coronavirus cases within its jurisdiction.
Following the coronavirus outbreak, the ban on marriage halls, which lasted for six months, was imposed. Many people affiliated with the sector had gotten unemployed.
