In the reference related to Rs8 billion suspicious bank transactions, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has extended the stay order against the indictment of former president Asif Ali Zardari.

Chief Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Aamer Farooq heard the appeal of PPP Co-chairman Zardari against the decision of the accountability court rejecting his acquittal appeal in the reference.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) submitted its remarks against the plea of Zardari after the court sought arguments from the former president’s lawyer on December 14.

The accountability court had previously dismissed the petition of the PPP stalwart.
